“Sometimes people let the same problem make them miserable for years when they could just say, So what. That’s one of my favourite things to say. So what.” — Andy Warhol

I’m busy.

You’re busy.

Everyone around us is busy.

…but what are we all doing?

I’ve definitely got a lot of things I’m working on, but that’s also a story I’m telling myself. I’m really hiding from doing the important work. The work that really needs to be done. The work that is hard. The work that is scary.

I have another story too. I don’t have time to do that properly, that’s why it’s half-arsed. It saves me from admitting I could have done better. It saves me from doing the hard work needed to do it better.

So I’ve decided to do less. I’ve decided to put away the stories.

My question for you,
Are you really busy, or is that just a story you’re telling yourself?
It’s worth then asking,
What am I hiding from?

What if you were to do less? What if you were instead to get busy doing the hard part first? What might be possible then?

You don’t have an excuse now.

I don’t have an excuse either.
